Coordination Council for Production and Logistics Issues Established in Ukraine to Support Ukrainian Exporters


On Friday, October 16, the Ukrainian Business and Trade Association (UBTА), the Association of International Road Carriers of Ukraine (AsMAP UA) and the Association of Exporters and Importers "ZED" signed an agreement on the establishment of the Coordination Council for Production and Logistics.

One of the main functions of the newly formed association will be to help solve production and logistics problems faced by manufacturers, exporters, importers and carriers in the conduct of foreign economic activity. In particular, the issue of providing truckers with the necessary number of permits for road transport to EU countries, arrangement and effective operation of border crossing points, lobbying the interests of domestic manufacturers and truckers in the EU, to support exports of Ukrainian products to the EU and others.

As the liberalization of transit traffic through the EU will be one of the points of revision of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, another function of the Coordination Council will be to collect and report information on logistical problems related to the export of Ukrainian goods to the EU to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for the European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine and the search for effective tools to influence the EU institutions through the Brussels office of the Ukrainian Association of Business and Trade.

Signing the agreement on the establishment of the Coordination Council, Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Ivan Nagornyak, Head of the UBTA Brussels Office Nazar Bobitski, President of AsMAP of Ukraine Leonid Kostyuchenko and Director of the Association of Exporters and Importers "ZED" Oksana Kostiuchenko stressed the importance of working together on many issues of trade with the EU, including the renewal of the Agreement with the EU and support for domestic producers and carriers. Serhiy Svistil was elected Chairman of the Board.

The Coordination Council is open to new participants and is ready to cooperate in addressing the promotion of domestic products in the markets of the EU and other regions.
