UKRAINIAN TRADE MISSION TO THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA
As part of implementation of the strategy aimed at expanding the geography of exports and promoting Ukrainian products abroad, the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine will hold a number of business meetings during the trade mission to the Republic of South Africa. The mission is to be headed by the Trade Representative of Ukraine T. A. Kachka, with the participation of the Chairman of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection V. V. Mahaletska. The event is co-organized together with the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of South Africa, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa to Ukraine, with the support of the Ukrainian Business and Trade Association (UBTA).
Trade mission dates: April 13-18, 2021
Venue: South Africa, Pretoria and Durban
Representatives of Ukrainian export-oriented enterprises and companies operating in the following sectors are invited to participate in the trade mission:
- agro-industrial complex;
- food industry;
- pharmaceutical sector;
- metallurgical complex;
- mechanical engineering;
- representatives of other sectors.
Opportunities and benefits for participants in the trade mission to South Africa
Participation in the mission opens up new opportunities for improving foreign trade activities and using the potential for cooperation in one of the most promising markets of Africa. It will also let the participants to learn first-hand the specifics of doing business in the region, local requirements, and cultural peculiarities.
It is worth noting that South Africa is considered an "African hub"; this creates additional opportunities for expanding the geography of exports to other African countries. UBTA has developed contacts with representatives of the South African business environment; these, as well as the support provided by local Chambers of Commerce, will allow to hold meetings not only with representatives of the South African businesses, but also with potential partners from neighboring countries, namely Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique.

Representatives of the private and public sectors of the South African heavy industry, food and non-food retail chains, importers, and local distributors have preliminary confirmed their participation in the trade mission from the South African side.
During the trade mission, the participants will also have an opportunity to:
- make a personal offline acquaintance with the heads of diplomatic missions, bodies of authority, specialized associations, and potential partners;
- get useful and practical advice for operating in the South African market;
- present their companies’ products or services to the other participants in person; and
- directly negotiate with potential customers.

April 16-17, 2021
Business forum with the participation of representatives of Durban’s local authorities and of the local business environment. The topics to be discussed include the most promising and priority areas of economic cooperation between Ukraine and South Africa.

Cost of participation in the trade mission to South Africa:
- $1000 for UBTA member companies
- $2000 for companies that are not members of the UBTA
* the payment is to be made in the national currency at the NBU’s exchange rate as of the date of payment.
The cost of participation in the mission includes:
- Rental of Pretoria and Durban event venues;
- Search for business partners in the Republic of South Africa;
- Internal logistics services;
- Visa support.
Important: visa issuance, international and domestic flights tickets, and hotel accommodation are to be paid for by the participants
